Our incredible Guest this week is BAFTA award-winning Filmmaker Colin O’Toole. In this episode, you’ll discover how a young music lover from Manchester used his Fine Art degree and early work directing music videos and commercials as creative nourishment towards becoming a master of short filmmaking. Colin has built his entire filmmaking career through trial and error, learning on the job, connecting with other creatives, and sometimes financing his projects himself. Whether mentoring emerging filmmakers through his brilliant Short Film Foundry course or connecting with audiences, Colin continuously demonstrates how honing your singular point of view IS the power of your work, because it’s who you are. It’s what makes it undeniable. And his short films, ‘The 10 AM’, ‘Cowboy Dave’ and ‘Cul-de-sac’ (to name but a few) are tremendous examples of Colin’s work at its finest. Colin wants to leave a trace of himself behind in his work, just like we do, which is why we are so thrilled to have captured this conversation with him, especially as he is about to embark on his debut feature filmmaking journey. We’re certainly inspired to keep making short films, and we hope you are too after listening. Happy Friday to you all!
